Operational and Legal
We take our legal responsibilities very seriously and as such this training takes priority, such as first aid, lifeguarding etc. Even if you are not yet an employee of Places for People Leisure, we offer this training to external parties, click here for further details.
Inductions and Refresher Training
All new staff receive a generic, and site specific, training and induction programme. This always includes a customer service and equality awareness module. Each year staff also receive refresher training based on their own particular needs.
Annual Performance and Development Reviews
These provide an excellent opportunity for employees to set out their future aspirations and to discuss how the company can support you in achieving these goals.
We place much emphasis on in-house coaching, mentoring and training via team meetings, Contract/Regional meetings and job specific training.
We run an in-house management development programme, called “Rising Stars”, delivered over 6 months. This is an elite talent programme, run annually, for exceptional employees who are looking to become Senior Managers of the future. The 2013 Rising Stars programme saw a fantastic 73% of graduates going on to progress their careers within Places for People Leisure and 58% from the 2014 programme have already been promoted.
PFPLM, in partnership with Lifetime, developed a new Aspiring Internal Managers (AIMs)programme in 2014. The aim was to introduce a programme in order for us to grow our employee talent pipeline to cope with our expanding business, generating Managers of the future to lead our teams. This is a completely bespoke programme incorporating a completely new qualification (Level 2 Access to Leadership) which PFPLM are delivering. AIMS_Programme.pdf
We also run in house management modules aimed at developing our Managers of all levels.
At any time we have around 450 employees being trained by our training partner, Lifetime. All of this training is work based and covers operations, sales, fitness and customer service.
