A range of activities to enjoy in the pool

You or your children can enjoy other pool based activities including parent and baby sessions, Rookies lifesaving, swim development and stroke technique sessions.

Adult and Child Session

Pay as you go swimming session with qualified instructors on hand to give help and advice on water confidence. These are fun sessions including recognisable songs and games. Aimed at parents with children aged 6 months to 4 years. Ratio 1 adult to 1 child.

Rookies Lifesaving Course 8+yrs

Learn lifesaving skills, water survival, teamwork, initiative and basic life support (resuscitation).  The course has been amalgamated to be a part of our Swim Academy, and is split into wet and dry training, and follows an award scheme.  You must be confident in deep water and be able to swim 50m with ease.

Saturday 9.00am - 11.00am

Survive & Save Course 13-15yrs

This programme will focus on water safety as well as personal survival and fitness. In addition to understnding the essentials of rescue, it will highlight the many areas of the drowning environment - open water sites, lakes, rivers, canals, beaches and ponds.  The Survive and Save programme also uses sport as part of the training programme, which aids and develops the general health of the candidates.

Saturday 9.00am - 11.00am

Swim Development

Aimed at juniors of confident swimming ability  (swim academy stage 8,9,& 10 or equivilant).  This course covers swim technique, and fitness as well as water polo, and survival etc.

Saturday 8.00am - 9.00am

We have several water based clubs that use the Centre.

Swim Coaching

A programmed coach led fitness session to improve and get the most out of swimming. 

Tuesday 6.35pm - 7.30pm

Masters Coached Sessions

An adult swimming session using swim lanes that encompasses the whole range of ability from fitness swimming to highly organised competitive swimming.  We have created a pathway for swimmers to follow which will be achieved through 3 varying levels.  Our coach Jan Hutchings will be on hand to guide you on your journey.

Ladies Only

Session available for females only. There is a structured lane for females 16+ with the ability to swim lengths. Ideal for those wanting to swim for fitness, lane available for all abilities and speed of swimmer.

Disabled Swimming

This session is for those that have a temporary (recovering from injury / operation) or permanent mobility / physical impairment or a mental disability.

Adult Lane Swimming

A structured lane session available for those 16 and above, male and female with the ability to swim lengths. Ideal for those wanting to swim for fitness or to have a relaxing swim, lanes available for all abilities and speed of swimmer.

Family Swim

A session for children accompanied by parent/guardian.

Family Fun Session

A session in the teaching pool for parents and children with floats (subject to availability. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)

Fun Session

A session aimed at children 8 years plus with floats (subject to availability). There is a lane available for those with the ability to swim lengths. Ideal for those wanting to swim for fitness, lane available for all abilities and speed of swimmer.

All welcome + Swim Lanes

A session available to all for fun and fitness with lane/s also available for those wanting to swim lengths.

In Internet Explorer 9 the always-visible control has been removed.

IE 8

IE 8 has a size-change facility permanently on view: the button in the bottom-right corner. This can be used to zoom the whole page (text and images).
