Band System

During busy times (such as weekends and school/ public holidays) we operate a timed bather band system to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time in our pool.

We endeavour to keep all our customers informed of the availability of the pool. Please call reception on 02392 534950 or visit our twitter page (@gosportlc) for updates.

How does the band system work?

On arrival and purchase of a ticket you will be given a coloured band. This band not only shows the lifeguarding team that you have paid for your session but also gives you an allocated time to use the pool. We guarantee that everyone will have a minimum of 55 minutes in the pool - plenty of time to do your lengths or splash around with your friends!

To ensure we don't exceed the safe number of people in our pool, there maybe a slight wait to gain entry. Commonly, this is no longer than 40 minutes - during this time you are welcome to enjoy other facilities at the centre including the sports hall and football pitches.

When does the band system operate?

We will implement the band system during all school holidays and weekends. There maybe occasions when we have to start the band system outside of holidays and weekends; if this is the case we will post a message on our twitter (@gosportlc).

When do you sell bands for the sessions?

Entrance tickets will be sold no more than 30 minutes before the session.

Will I be asked to leave after 55 minutes?

It really depends on how busy it is. If the session is at capacity then we will call out customers after their allocated time - this is to ensure everyone can enjoy the use of the pool.

If the session is not at capacity then we will not call out any customers. Remember - sometimes there are people in the changing room who will soon be entering the pool.

Can I book a time slot to come in on?

Unfortunately this is not possible.

How do I know if the pool is busy?

This is a very difficult question for us to answer as we are never sure who will come through the door. The best thing to do is contact one of our team on 02392 534950 or follow us on twitter for updates.
