National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

The Royal Life Saving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is the most awarded

lifeguard qualification in the UK, it is widely accepted as a minimum qualification for a

role as a lifeguard.

The qualification is made up of three units:

1 - The lifeguard and the Law, Swimming Pool and Supervision

2 - Intervention and Rescue and Emergency Action Plans

3 - CPR, AED and First Aid

 

 To book onto a course applicants must be competent to:

  • Jump/ Dive into Deep Water
  • swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
  • swim 100 metres continuously on front and back
  • tread water for 30 seconds in deep water
  •  surface dive to the deepest part of the pool
  • climb out of the pool unaided without using steps or ladder.

We have courses running:

  • April 2014
  • May 2014
  • July 2013
  • October 2014

Courses cost £200 and have an optional AED bolt on charged at an extra £20.

In Internet Explorer 9 the always-visible control has been removed.

Using the menu:

  1. Click on the cog icon in the top right
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose the desired size

Keyboard shortcut: Hold the Ctrl key down and move the mouse wheel or by use Ctrl & '+' and Ctrl & '-'.

IE 8

IE 8 has a size-change facility permanently on view: the button in the bottom-right corner. This can be used to zoom the whole page (text and images).

Using the menu:

  1. Click 'View'
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose the desired size
