Hinckley Leisure Centre Opening!
Last weekend I took a trip to Hinckley to see the new leisure centre. It was a pleasure to see the new facilities and take a guided tour with Graham Chilvers and other Go Gold athletes. It seemed apt to be doing this after my recent retirement, as the old Hinckley Leisure Centre was where I first discovered my love of swimming. I also competed for Hinckley Swimming Club over a decade ago, from age 8 until 10. The skills I learnt there were invaluable and I hope the new leisure centre will inspire youngsters, as it did for me!

The New Hinckley Leisure Centre Open Weekend
On Saturday 7th March I was honoured to be invited as one of several Go Gold-athletes to an open weekend in the new Hinckley Leisure Centre. We were interviewed in the new sports hall and I talked about my tennis. We had a VIP tour of the new leisure centre. I was impressed with the gym and the swimming pool. We were also interviewed live on the radio by Mark and Twiggy from OAK 107 and we each talked about the Go Gold scheme and our sports. Thank you to everyone that made it possible.

New Hinckley Leisure Centre
On Saturday, Go Gold gave me and a few others the opportunity to have a look round the new and very nice Leisure Centre in Hinckley. It was a great afternoon, getting to look around at all the new equipment and facilities that is now available for us to use. I really liked the look of the centre and I am really looking forward to start going in and using the new equipment. Thanks again Go Gold for giving us the tour of the centre.
