11 sites, 1 membership

Get the most out of your membership

First of all “CONGRATULATIONS”; as a member of Places for People Leisure we’re delighted that you’ve decided that physical activity is an important part of your life. That makes you amongst only 15% of the population in the UK who have chosen to do so, and we reckon that makes you pretty special.

Encouraging you to remain active is really important to us; we hope you were inspired by the recent Olympics in Rio and we wanted to let you know about some things that will help you get even more out of your membership.

You may have had a balmy summer holiday and missed a little bit of exercise, so September is a great time to re-invigorate yourself. Don’t miss the range of activities we’ve got planned across the 11 sites in Wiltshire for NATIONAL FITNESS DAY on Wednesday 7th September. As a member you are able to access all PfP facilities in Wiltshire, so if you’re big into Group Exercise – that’s sweating it out with your friends in a studio! – We launch our new Group Exercise timetable with some great new classes AND music on the weekend of 24th/25th September.

If Swimming is your thing and you don’t know about SWIMTAG - then we’d love you to give it a go. SWIMTAG is your very own ‘wearable’ that will record your swim – get the band from reception, swim your lengths and your time will be recorded and posted to a leaderboard – it’s a great way to check your progress and you just might want to compare yourself to Adam Peaty!

We know that physical activity really matters to you and we are currently making significant investments into facilities, equipment and technology to enhance your experience each time you exercise; we’re investing around £10M this year into those types of things all over the country. As a social enterprise without obligation to shareholders all of our efforts and funds are utilised to develop the quality of our service and facilities and to widen the opportunities for all sections of the community to participate in physical and health related activity. To enable Places for People to continue to invest like this in society, we will be applying a small increase to your monthly membership fee from 1st October of £1.00.

We’ve received some feedback from you regarding your ability to cancel your class bookings and so will be improving that for you enabling you to cancel up to 2 hours prior to a class without penalty. You told us this would be more reasonable and we know it will enable even more of you to attend classes when spaces become available.
