Our gym offers access to all

Adults with special needs, learning difficulties and disabilities gym sessions

 

 

The active living movement has encouraged all of us to be more physically active in our daily lives and to maintain or improve our health.

 

Our ‘IFI Accredited’ (Inclusive Fitness Initiative) fitness gym equipment enables both disabled and non-disabled people to benefit from a full body, cardiovascular and resistance-based workout.

 

We offer supervised gym sessions for adults with special needs, learning difficulties and disabilities, Mondays 1.30pm - 2.15pm

 

Everyone can achieve important health benefits by being as physically active as possible.

 

Improves cardiovascular fitness and endurance

Helps develop and maintain joint flexibility, muscular strength, and balance

Reduces the risk of diabetes and some cancers

Helps control weight

Improves bone density

The Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) is a Sport England Lottery Funded project that supports not for profit fitness facilities to become Inclusive, catering for the needs of disabled and non-disabled people alike.

We have provided easy access specialist fitness equipment and implemented staff training to ensure fitness is accessible for all.

Our accessible features include

  • Parking - Provision has been made at the front of the car park, close to the building, to allow easy access via the ramp to the side of the Centre for Registered Disabled badge holders
  • A lift is available to all floors
  • Pool Hoist
  • Specialist fitness gym equipment and implemented staff training to ensure fitness is accessible for all.

Using the menu:

  1. Click 'View'

Using the menu:

  1. Click on the spanner button to the right of the address bar
  2. Choose zoom '+' or '-'

IE 9

In Internet Explorer 9 the always-visible control has been removed.

Using the menu:

  1. Click on the cog icon in the top right
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose the desired size

Keyboard shortcut: Hold the Ctrl key down and move the mouse wheel or by use Ctrl & '+' and Ctrl & '-'.

IE 8

IE 8 has a size-change facility permanently on view: the button in the bottom-right corner. This can be used to zoom the whole page (text and images).

Using the menu:

  1. Click 'View'
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose the desired size
