Pauls Story

GP Referral Programme

"I no longer need my diabetes medication and will soon be able to come off my blood pressure medication."

Paul, a previous patient of the exercise referral scheme at The Triangle said "When I arrived at the centre three months ago, I had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was taking medication daily. I worked with Tim, my exercise referral specialist, who took the time to listen to me and find out what I wanted to achieve by improving my levels of activity."

"Tim initially put together a range of light exercises and worked with me to gradually increase the amount of time I spent doing physical activity on a weekly basis. Having recently been back to see my doctor I was suprised to learn that I no longer need my diabetes medication and will soon be able to come off my blood pressure medication."

Tim commented "I am extremely pleased that exercise played a fantastic role in helping Paul to no longer require his medication. Our program aims to improve every patient's quality of life and in this case the turnaround has been remarkable."

Paul, 45, Burgess Hill
