Activities for the over 50s to enjoy

We have a number of activities aimed at those aged 50 or over, or those who have never exercised before.

Here are some of our current sessions, but do check out our timetable for the full list of workout classes.

 

Active Always

Active Always sessions provide an excellent opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy a range of activities.

Active Always is a programme of physical activity that will improve your health and wellbeing.

If you have never exercised before, its not too late to start. All instructors are specially qualified to teach health related exercise to people of all levels of fitness and ability to ensure everyone can join in at their own pace.

The programme is co-ordinated through RMBC Sports Development in partnership with several NHS Rotherham services and and community partners across Rotherham.

Active Always Multi-Activity Morning

Our Active Always Morning session provide an excellent opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy a range of activities, plus you can relax after your workout with complimentary tea and coffee.


The dedicated classes include...

Friday’s 10.15am – 11am Aqua Circuits

Friday’s 11.15am – 12pm Active Always

Friday’s 12pm Onwards Tea & Coffee

Cost: £4.55 or £3.35 (Rothercard)



NEW - Active Otago fall prevention 12 Week Course
 
Our Active Otago course is a specially designed course to help improve strength and balance.  All sessions are delivered by highly qualified instructors.

Cost: £3.00 1hr class
Day/Time: Monday 2.00pm-3.00pm (STARTS 21st July)

Text size controls

Using the menu:

  1. Click 'View'
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose 'Zoom in' or 'Zoom out'

Chrome

Using the menu:

  1. Click on the spanner button to the right of the address bar
  2. Choose zoom '+' or '-'

IE 9

In Internet Explorer 9 the always-visible control has been removed.

Using the menu:

  1. Click on the cog icon in the top right
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose the desired size

Keyboard shortcut: Hold the Ctrl key down and move the mouse wheel or by use Ctrl & '+' and Ctrl & '-'.

IE 8

IE 8 has a size-change facility permanently on view: the button in the bottom-right corner. This can be used to zoom the whole page (text and images).

Using the menu:

  1. Click 'View'
  2. Click 'Zoom'
  3. Choose the desired size

Keyboard shortcut: Hold the Ctrl key down and move the mouse wheel back or forward.
