What is Clubbercise

If you like the idea of a fitness class that feels more like a night out than a workout you’ll LOVE Clubbercise®

Fun, easy-to-follow dance fitness routines using rave glow sticks to club anthems from 90′s classics to the latest chart hits taught in a darkened room with disco lights.

Because of the high and low impact options Clubbercise dance fitness classes are great if you’re just starting out on a fitness regime or if you’re already a fitness freak!

What happens in a Clubbercise class?

After checking in you can buy a set of flashing rave glow sticks, these are reusable so much more environmentally friendly than the single use ones. We darken the room, get the disco lights going and start with a simple warm up routine. Then we work up a sweat dancing to floor fillers from 90′s rave to recent dance anthems. The routines are easy-to-follow and always have high or low impact options. It's all about fun, not about perfection. Take it to your level, keep it simple and enjoy the music.

Member Testimonial

Dave Foster

Dave Foster 43 has been coming to William Gregg VC since 2010 and since joining he has never looked back. Dave doesn’t  let his disability hold him back and we will  often find him lifting every single weight on the leg press a feat in itself for most people!

Since joining he has become a well known face around the centre and he never lets anything faze him and you always see him chatting to customers and staff alike. He finds the staff very supportive and the fitness team have worked with him to ensure he has a varied program he enjoys doing and he his always keen to try new exercises.

He his currently keeping a video log of his progress but his current challenge is to improve his rowing technique and times after introducing this equipment to his routine in November. But as so far done a personal best of 1583 in under 10 minutes which is a great achievement.

Dave is our member of the month because he never lets his disability stop him and he always pushes his boundaries. In addition to this he his always smiling and an incredible character that a lot of us can learn from and shows that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

Exercise of the Month

BOSU Ball Squat

Place both feet evenly on the half dome side of the BOSU ball.

Ensure to keep both feet flat and keep your core engaged at all times.

Begin lowering your body by breaking at the hips first.

Squat down while raising your hands upwards to shoulder height.

Make sure your knees don't bend forward past your shoes.

Keep your chest up and look straight ahead.

Squat down to 90º in the knees.

Rise up by pushing your hips forward.

Perfect The Move

To perfect this move you need to ensure a slow movement, keeping the core engaged for complete balance throughout this exercise. You must keep perfect posture keeping a neutral spine and push through your heels for power and balance. If you are losing balance or if your technique is off after so many repetitions you have reached the end of your set so ensure to step off slow and steady.
