Handy Cross Indoor Bowls Club

Our Bowls Club is celebrating 40 years at Handy Cross which makes us the oldest indoor bowls club in Buckinghamshire.

We have over 300 men and women members at present some of whom compete at national and county level, making us a very competitive club.

We are keen to encourage new members to join us and we pride ourselves on making time for new and first time bowlers from juniors right through the age range and we have over 12 national coaches.

Coaching sessions are organised on Monday evening and Friday morning for new bowlers and those existing bowlers who need it and for those who are not available on weekdays, we may be able to organise Sunday morning coaching if there is enough demand.

Pay and Play is available to anybody wishing to have a go at bowls. We can supply woods, jacks and shoes, although trainers or flat soled shoes are acceptable on our green. We can accommodate individuals and groups of up to 32 people. There will be a small fee charged.

League matches are organised throughout the week and Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday mornings are our tea and coffee and roll-up sessions where all members are welcome. We also run friendly matches with other clubs in the area at weekends and these are open to both men and women.

We also run a number of club competitions throughout the year and they include everything from Novice Bowlers to Club Championships.

We have a tea bar and a charity stall to raise funds for our chosen charity.

We encourage both the partially-sighted and the disabled association to use our facilities along with the Bucks Indoor Short Mat Bowls Association.

We are a properly constituted club, affiliated to all the appropriate National bodies.
