Funding

Working in partnership, Places for People Leisure has been very successful in attracting funding in 3 key areas.

Training

We attract in excess of £1m per year for various training schemes ranging from work based National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) to Future Jobs Fund sponsored schemes for unemployed. We also attract funding from National Governing Bodies (NGBs) for coach development.

Public Health

Places for People Leisure has a track record of attracting funding from the NHS and Local Authorities for a range of interventions and programmes from Children’s Weight Management to Free Swimming 'top up' programmes. We understand the importance of measurement of outcomes, collecting clear evidence and putting in place sustainable exit routes and believe we are well placed to work in the changing Public Health landscape as services are commissioned to reliable delivery partners.

£30k of funding from British Gymnastics

National Governing Bodies of Sport

Working with our Local Authority partners we have successfully drawn down funding for both participation schemes and capital projects. A good example is from our partnership with British Gymnastics and we secured £30,000 to develop our facilities as Gymnastics' Proficiency Centres. With our experience and best practice and willingness to match fund we are proud that funding in our facilities has increased for the benefit of communities we serve.
