Amber Valley Awarded Excellence
DC Leisure’s Alfreton, Ripley and William Gregg VC leisure centres, have been listed as the top three nationally recognised centres.
Managed on behalf of Amber Valley Borough Council, the three leisure centres recently achieved ‘excellent’ gradings for their ‘Quest’ quality assessment and as a result have now been listed as the top three nationally recognised centres in this ‘excellent’ category.
The Quest assessment, in partnership with Sport England, measures quality in the sport and leisure industry. Councillor Stephen Hayes, responsible for active and healthier places to live, from Amber Valley Borough Council, says: “This is a fantastic result and a true reflection on how well the leisure centres are being managed by DC Leisure reinforcing our commitment to quality leisure facilities in Amber Valley. We hope that providing the local community with high quality sport and fitness facilities will encourage more people in the area to adopt healthier, more active lifestyles and what better time to become inspired than after the best year of sport this country has ever known!”
“The Quest structure is so much tougher now and this is the first time that Alfreton, Ripley and William Gregg have been assessed under the new criteria,” explains Jackie Goacher, DC Leisure’s Amber Valley Contract Manager.
“The fact that all three leisure centres have achieved ‘excellent’ status is a fabulous achievement in itself, but to have achieved the top three spots in the Quest benchmarking table is an amazing achievement. We have a genuine desire to continually improve what we do, which I believe is the cornerstone of our achievement.”
Steve Philpott, Chief Executive of DC Leisure, adds: “Congratulations to the Amber Valley team for this brilliant result which clearly demonstrates their hard work and dedication. It’s fantastic to see the three leisure centres going from strength to strength and delivering excellent standards with each Quest assessment.”
