Budget Gym offers a Place for the People of Corby

The new site, situated just off Westcott Way next to Willow Place Shopping Centre, is fully equipped, providing members with over 100 exercise stations to accommodate all their needs. Top of the range cardiovascular and resistance equipment, along with a free weights area are available for all members, with monthly memberships starting from just £14.99.

Despite only being open for a short time, initial reception has been extremely positive from local Corby residents. The 10,000 sq. ft. gym, open from 6.30am to 10.30pm weekdays and 8am to 6pm on weekends, offers members everything that they need to help them reach their fitness goals at a fraction of the price of a big brand health club. Places Gym in Corby is able to offer a cut price membership by not providing the often unwanted extras that accompany many larger gyms including a swimming pool, sauna and additional towels.

Places for People, who currently run two Places Gyms in addition to multiple leisure centres, were recently crowned Leisure Operator of the Year for the third year running at the 2015 ukactive Flame Awards. This award demonstrates the incredible commitment of the team and the work they do in facilities across the UK with many local authority partners.

Sandra Dodd, CEO of Places for People Leisure (PfPL), the company running the site, comments: “We’re really keen to offer an alternative to the traditional leisure centre facilities that we currently provide at over 100 locations throughout the UK. Our goal here at PfPL is to get people exercising more and people active more often and we are keen to build upon the number of people visiting leisure centres and other activity venues.

With these new budget gyms we can bring affordable fitness to new communities. We have the expertise and the knowledge to continue to develop PfPL and make projects such as Corby a success.”
