Keeping fit with MS
Customer Story #Iaminto
Places for People Leisure member Sophie Jenkins lives in Andover and is 41 years old, she suffers from MS and got back into her health and fitness journey following a fractured hip and she is an inspiration to us all. Sophie has made the most of the expertise on offer at our Places for People Leisure Centres in Test Valley.
After Sophie fractured her hip as part of her rehabilitate programme she started to regularly attend exercise classes at Andover Leisure Centre, as her fitness levels increased she set herself a goal of completing the Ride London cycling event in aid of the MS Society and recently completed the event which was a great achievement.
Sophie contacted Places for People to say “I started attending a low impact Aqua class in Andover and then Romsey which then enabled me to move onto a Step class and Legs, Bums and Tums. These classes in particular, have made a huge difference to me, my physiotherapist yesterday said the improvement in the last 3 months is amazing. I am so pleased and would like to thank all the friendly and supportive staff who have helped me, their encouragement and enthusiasm have inspired me to keep attending classes throughout the pain.”
Sophie attended Sports Physiotherapy sessions with Martin Allen at Andover Leisure Centre which has complimented her journey to fitness.
