Fire Brigade dog training at Andover Leisure Centre site
The Urban search and rescue section of the Fire Brigade came to the Andover Leisure Centre site to carry out a training session for dog familiarisation.
They find it difficult to find the right type of site for training, and due to the piles of rubble from the demolition the Andover Leisure Centre site was perfect.
They had a support team with them and they hide and the dogs have to find them. One of the dogs Shelley (black and white dog) was about a year from retirement and Harley was in training with his final test next month.
The section were set up after 9/11 and deal with emergencies like gas explosions or any natural disaster, covering the whole world, but their main remit is the UK.
