Leisure Centre Build

Latest update 15.9.17

UPDATE  15.9.17 - ANDOVER LEISURE CENTRE WILL BE OPEN 20-29TH SEPTEMBER
Here is an update on the planned reduction in opening hours at Andover Leisure Centre, which are required to allow the safe demolition of the Sports Hall.

Contractors had previously scheduled a closure up until 6pm each week day, from the 20th – 29th September 2017. However due to the discovery of asbestos in the sports hall and the need to ensure its safe removal, further works are required ahead of the proposed demolition, and therefore the Leisure Centre closure next week is now NOT necessary.

Please note that it is likely a period of closure will still take place in the near future and as soon as we receive any confirmation from building contractors we will let you know. The discovery and removal of asbestos in no way poses any risk to the public, staff or users of the centre in the meantime.

Due to the impending closure for the demolition of the Sports Hall we have taken the decision to reduce our current headline membership from £39 to £33.15 which will remain through until April 2018, when all prices will be reviewed. For those members who have paid in advance for an annual membership, an additional month will be added onto your existing membership arrangement to reflect the reduction in our headline price. We will make these changes to all memberships automatically, but should you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch with us on the following email address: enquires@andoverleisurecentre.org.

The temporary pool is due to open at the end of September. Please check our website regularly for more information and we will continue to keep you updated. Thanks for your patience and understanding during this time, and look forward to seeing you in the centre next week.

The demolition of the swimming pool building at Andover Leisure Centre started Monday 20th June. See the latest images below.

The start of the building work, means that there are redirections for pedestrian access routes.  The images below show where routes have been closed, which includes the walkway to the centre under the bridge and the pavement that runs past West Street Car Park.

Access to Andover Leisure Centre is from Junction Road under the bypass, or via the pavement above over the foot bridge and past The Lights Theatre around the pond, or from  Marlborough Street car park (next to Andover College and Simply Health).

West Street Car Park will be closed for public use for up to 2 years. This is to enable a site area for vehicles and equipment to be moved on and off the building site.

Customers visiting the Gym, Studios and Squash Courts go through Cafeology and Merlin's Kingdom and follow directional signage, Studio 4 has been relocated on the ground floor off the cafe.  There is lift access to all floors, ask at reception if you require any help.
