What Should You Do To Keep Fit If You Are Over 60?

Guidance on remaining active as an older adult.

Staying active as an older adult has many benefits to both your physical & mental health, as well as helping to maintain your ability to carry out everyday tasks.

It is recommended that you do 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of moderate exercise each week, which can include the following:

  • Walking
  • Pushing a lawnmower
  • Water aerobics
  • Line or Ballroom dancing

It's important to improve balance, coordination & strength as you get older & you should aim to perform strength exercises at least 2 days a week.
