A bit about tennis

Tennis is a great way of keeping fit and having fun with friends. It helps develop your hand-eye coordination, is non-contact and can be played by anyone or any age. Tennis is a sport for life and provides you with a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends.

There are a whole variety of tennis programmes available at Graves Health and Sports Centre, with something to suit everyone including; Singles, Doubles, Cardio Tennis, Mini Tennis and Disability Tennis.

Is the tennis court the place for you?

If you enjoy a social sport, that provides a full body workout and an edge of competition then tennis is the game for you! Whether you are looking to hire a court to play with friends on one of our high performance courts, or interested in coaching by a LTA qualified coach we will have a session for you.

Let’s get you started

You can book a court by calling us on 0114 283 9900.

See our adult social drop in tennis sessions and coached lessons below from 3 years to adults.

We run the following tennis courses:

Mini Tots (3-4 years)

Children enjoy and learn the game through fun activities based on the fundamental areas of balance, co-ordination, agility and movement around ball and racket skills. Playing with sponge balls and smaller rackets the focus of these lessons is to have as much fun as possible.

Mini Red, Orange & Green (5-11 years)

As children pass through the stages of Mini Tennis they will develop the basic techniques involved in tennis. They will progress to low compression balls on to a full size court and competitive play.

Junior Yellow (11+ years)

The junior programme builds on the solid foundation established in Mini Tennis. The performance programme provides a high intensity training environment for players.
